ISLAMABAD: The sale of motorbikes and three wheelers increased 18.07 per cent during the first five months (July-Nov) of the current financial year (FY2020-21), as compared to the corresponding period of last year.
As many as 792,228 motorbikes and three wheelers were sold in July-Nov FY21 period against the sale of 670,954 units in July-Nov FY20, data shared by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA) revealed.
During the period under review, the sale of Honda motorcycles went up 19.33pc, from 430,143 units last year to 512,010 units; the sale of United Auto motorcycles increased 18.19pc, from 144,294 units to 170,549 units; while that of Road Prince motorcycles surged 25.20pc, from 53,889 units to 67,474 units.
On the other hand, Suzuki motorbike sales dipped 2.76pc, from 8,967 units to 8,719 units; Yamaha motorbikes sales dropped 18.46pc, from 10,711 units to 8,733; while that of Ravi motorbikes plunged 69.39pc, from 7,686 units to 2,352 units.
Meanwhile, the sale of Road Prince three-wheelers witnessed an increase of 36.69pc, from 3,406 units in 5MFY20 to 4,656 units in 5MFY21; Sazgar three-wheeler sales appreciated 44.36pc, from 4,177 units to 6,030 units; Qingqi sales surged 82.75pc, from 4,587 units to 8,383 units; whereas United Auto three-wheeler sales rose 27.99pc, from 2,575 units to 3,296 units.
