The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has changed the venue of its Kashmir Day rally from Rawalpindi to Kashmir after a telephonic conversation took place between Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday.
Reportedly, a delegation of senior PML-N leaders including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) premier Raja Farooq Haider and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had called on the PDM chief following Nawaz’s call.
Earlier this month, the Maulana had announced that the PDM would hold a February 5 Kashmir Day rally at Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
A day earlier, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed had said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had fought the cases of Kashmir, Islam and Khatm-e-Nabuwwat in international forums effectively while adding that the PDM president had done nothing regarding the Kashmir issue during his chairmanship of Kashmir Committee.
Moreover, Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan had last week accused Fazl of making properties through frontmen off the religious funds.
Calling him a corrupt wizard of the modern era, Awan had, in a series of tweets, said Fazl always misled people and his politics revolves around personal interests and creating turmoil.
