Cases to be registered against those responsible of sharing questionable content during Aurat March

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony Sahibzada Noorul Haq Qadri has said that cases would be registered against the responsible for uploading objectionable contents of “Aurat March” on social media after conducting thorough investigations.

In a statement, he said that Pakistan was the country of Aashiqan-e-Rasool and the insolence actions taken against the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) could not be allowed in the country.

Efforts were underway to ascertain the facts behind the rationale of displeasing banners, placards and blasphemous slogans of the Women March which went viral on social media.

Those who photoshopped the banners of the Women’s March would also be punished, he emphasised.

He said that right now investigations of sacrilegious placards, banners and blasphemous slogans displayed in the “Aurat March” were being conducted.

The participants of Aurat March have clarified that they did not raise blasphemous slogans in their march staged on March 8 to mark International Women’s Day, and their video had been doctored to curb the growing popularity of their struggle.
