NTDC establishes central control centre to monitor stability of power system

LAHORE: In compliance with the directions of Ministry of Energy, the National Transmission & Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) has established a Central Control Centre (CCC) at New Kotlakhpat grid station to monitor and keep a close liaison with NPCC and all DISCOs during Sehr, Iftar and Traweeh hours.

The CCC will monitor stability of the power system.

NTDC Managing Director (MD) Engineer Dr Khawaja Riffat Hassan visited the CCC and checked the arrangements. He said that the CCC will work round the clock under the supervision of general manager (Asset Management) North and a dedicated team will look after continuous and uninterrupted power supply to all distribution companies across the country.

He said that in order to meet any emergency, Regional Control Centres (RCC) of asset management have also been established in Islamabad, Multan, Hyderabad and Quetta.

The MD further said that in case of a fault at any grid station or transmission nine of NTDC across the country, the control centre will monitor the team mobilisation and material directly and latest information will be shared with the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) and respective DISCOs.
