Fazl urges PPP, ANP to admit their mistakes, return to PDM fold

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Monday reiterated his resolve to overthrow the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government and urged the estranged PDM partners, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP) to accept their mistakes and return to the opposition alliance.

Talking to the media after chairing a meeting of the PDM steering committee, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the PDM was about to launch a mass contact campaign to mobilise the public to overthrow Imran Khan’s government.

He said that a summit of the central leadership of the PDM would be convened soon. He said that the PDM was ready with all its might to confront the government. Without mention, the names of PPP and ANP, the PDM chief further said that some comrades who have left the PDM should admit their mistakes and return to the PDM fold adhering to his appeal.

He said that in the next meeting, suggestions would be taken from the experts for the betterment of the economy and he was committed to getting rid of this government.

Asked about the steering committee meeting, Fazlur Rehman said it was suggested during the meeting that a summit should also be convened.

Criticizing the federal government, Fazlur Rehman said that the country’s economy was in shambles, adding that the next PDM meeting will consider how to improve these conditions.

He added that the country was facing another strong wave of Coronavirus disease and the government is forced to go for lockdown again. He alleged that the federal government has not spent a single penny to secure the Covid-19 vaccine.
