Experts emphasise proper handling of child abuse cases

A workshop on investigation of child abuse cases was held in Lahore wherein experts emphasised the importance of proper handling of child abuse cases.

The workshop was organised by the School of Strategic Studies, and was conducted by former inspector general of police of Gilgit-Baltistan, Sarmad Saeed Khan.

Inaugurating the session, Ali Sajjad, the CEO of School of Strategic Studies, told the audience that his institute is actively working on child protection and security studies. He said that it is the need of the hour to protect all children.

He also said that this workshop about investigation on child abuse cases will certainly help in understanding of the intricacies of child abuse cases. Moreover, the workshop would give knowledge of handling victim and accused in a proper manner and enable the participants with the art of effective investigation, he added.

Sajjad said that the solution to social problems is possible only through awareness and the best source of awareness is to discuss case studies.

The former IGP explained laws, rules and procedures pertaining to child abuse investigation. Briefing the session, he said that the people and the police are two sides of the same coin. He said that mutual cooperation between the two is of paramount importance for the investigation of any case.

At the end of the workshop, feedback forms were taken from the participants and certificates were given to all the participants.
