Three killed, 12 injured in bus-trailer collision

LAHORE: At least three people were killed and a dozen other sustained injuries after a bus and trailer collided head-on in Toba Tek Singh district of Punjab, police said on Sunday.

According to rescue officials, the incident occurred near a road leading to Samundari tehsil of Faisalabad when a trailer smashed the speeding bus, leading to the tragic accident.

“Three people have so far died while 12 others are currently being treated, with some said to be in a critical condition,” a rescue official said as the teams shifted the wounded to a nearby hospital.

The identity of those killed and injured in the road mishap could not be ascertained immediately.

Deadly accidents are common in the country due to poor road infrastructure and disregard for traffic laws.

In a recent incident, at least six people were killed while 30 others received injuries when their bus turned turtle after skidding off a bridge in Khanewal.
