UAE’s national carrier suspends Pakistan flights till further notice

DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates’ national carrier Etihad Airways has said that flights from Pakistan and India have been suspended until “further notice”.

Asked if flights would resume from August 3, Etihad Help told a netizen: “Following the recent update our flights from India and Pakistan have been suspended until further notice. As soon as we receive an official communication of changes to this regulation, our website will be updated. Do stay tuned for the latest travel information.”

Earlier, Emirates airline has announced that passenger flights from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will remain suspended until at least August 7. The Dubai-based carrier said in its fresh travel update on the website the suspension on the incoming scheduled passenger flights from these countries to the UAE has been extended until at least August 7.

The passengers who have connected through these countries in the last 14 days will also not be accepted for travel from any other point to the UAE, the airline added.

The UAE nationals, holders of the golden visas and members of the diplomatic missions who comply with the updated Covid-19 protocols are exempted and may be accepted for travel, it said.
