ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has appreciated the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for its proactive performance to achieve his government’s 10 Billion Tree Tsunami target.
In a tweet on Sunday, the prime minister also shared an image of an earlier barren looking Jadkar Banda Badland site in Abbottabad area, which has now turned into lush green after massive tree plantation there.
“Efforts in Abbottabad to make Pakistan Green. Jadkar Banda Badland site. Congratulations go to KP for being ahead in the race for achieving #10BillionTreeTsunami target,” the prime minister tweeted.
Separately, Prime Minister Khan on Sunday spoke about marginalised Pakistanis, saying that they are his “priority”. To convey his message, the premier took to his official Twitter account and posted the picture of a child, wearing grubby clothes and riding a bicycle. The child could be seen carrying the country’s flag as well as a garbage bag.
The caption on the picture said: “Those who love their homeland don’t question what the homeland gives them.” Khan captioned the picture that such marginalised people are his priority, adding that these people have been neglected by the state so far.
The tweet comes following the 74th Independence Day of Pakistan on Saturday and is consistent with Khan’s earlier proclamations of working for the poor and marginalised communities within the country.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan is launching the first phase of the Single National Curriculum for students of grade Pre-1 to grade-5 across the country today (Monday).
The introduction of the Single National Curriculum is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision to end educational disparity in the country. The uniform curriculum has been developed in consultation and collaboration with education departments of all federating units of the country. The Single National Curriculum is being developed and released in three phases.
In the first phase, the plan for grades Pre-1 to 5 (academic year 2021-22) will be implemented, whereas in second and third phases, grades 6 to 8 (academic year 2022-23) and grades 9 to 12 (academic year 2023-24) will follow the new curriculum, respectively.
