Two cops martyred, four injured in Thatta firing

THATTA: Two policemen were martyred and four injured due to the firing of armed men over a property dispute on Wednesday.

According to details, police reached Babra Road of Thatta where two groups were clashing over a property dispute.

Upon the arrival of police, armed men of one group started firing killing sepoy Ali Nawaz and ASI Muhammad Bux while injured four policemen.

Thatta Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Imran Ahmed said that a suspect and his accomplices, nominated in a first information report, opened fire at a police party led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Ghulam Rasool Sial and Gharo Station House Officer Mumtaz Brohi during an operation to arrest the suspects at Babra near Gharo.

The bodies and injured were shifted to the hospital for medico-legal formalities and police after registering a case into the incident started raids to arrest the culprits.
