ISLAMABAD: Greece has imposed a new testing requirement for all unvaccinated passengers arriving from Pakistan, Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia, and Russia effective from September 3, its civil aviation body said.
The same entry requirement remains in force for Egypt, Albania, Argentina, Brazil, Georgia, Cuba, United Arab Emirates, India, China, Libya, Morocco, Russia and Turkey, presented by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority last week, schengenvisainfo reported.
According to a press statement, the agency has also announced that international flights will continue being prohibited for another week, until September 3, as Covid-19 infection cases are increasing.
Furthermore, the NOTAM [notice to airmen] for incoming international flights will be effective until Friday, September 3 and includes the following change: Third-country nationals will be banned from entering the country, including their spouses and other persons.
Regardless of their nationality, country of departure or vaccination status, all travellers planning to enter Greece are obliged to provide the necessary travel document, Passenger Locator Form, before travelling, which can be sent electronically.
Travellers whose test result is positive (with rapid test) must perform a PCR test on arrival. If the traveller results positive for Coronavirus again, they are obliged to undergo a ten-day quarantine or a seven-day quarantine for vaccinated travellers. In both cases, they must perform a PCR test on the last day of their quarantine.
Currently, Greece is among the countries with the most relaxed restrictions as it recognises both European Medicine Agency and World Health Organisation approved vaccines, allowing all passengers inoculated with one of the following vaccines to enter the country without undergoing quarantine requirements.
