ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday confirmed 4,103 new Covid-19 cases, the National Command and Operation Centre said on Thursday.
The NCOC, a department leading campaign against the pandemic, said that the number of overall confirmed cases had risen to 1,167,791, including 1,048,872 recoveries.
The number of active cases has dropped to 92,941 who are under treatment across the country, including 4,717 critical patients.
According to the NCOC, the pandemic killed 89 people over the last 24 hours, taking the overall death toll to 25,978.
Sindh is the most affected province of the country in terms of the number of cases with 433,931 infections, followed by Punjab which has reported 396,326 cases.
On Wednesday, Punjab announced to ease Covid-19 restrictions in its 15 districts till September 15, where the number of daily confirmed cases has dropped significantly.
The provincial government allowed business activities to run until 10:00 pm, saying that the situation in the eased districts will be re-evaluated after two weeks for a further decision about the restrictions.
