Minister’s brother appointed NAB prosecutor

ISLAMABAD: Faisal Chaudhry, brother of Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, has been appointed as special prosecutor at National Accountability Bureau headquarters in Islamabad.

The notification for of appointment was issued on Tuesday, reports citing people familiar with the development said.

Chaudhry will pursue graft cases for the dirty money watchdog in the Islamabad High Court.

A barrister by profession, Chaudhry had resigned from the post of the additional advocate general, Punjab in July.

He was appointed to the post in December 2018 when the provincial government appointed 18 new additional advocate generals and 42 assistant advocate generals, mostly affiliated to lawyers’ wings of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid.
