Qureshi arrives in London on three-day visit

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Sunday arrived in London on a three-day visit to the United Kingdom.

On arrival at the Heathrow Airport, Pakistan’s high commissioner to the UK, Moazzam Ahmad Khan, his deputy, Faisal Aziz, and other senior officials of the mission welcomed the foreign minister.

During his visit, Qureshi will meet the chairman of the British Foreign Affairs Committee and members of the Parliament. He will also hold a meeting with his UK counterpart, Elizabeth Truss who has assumed office on September 15, replacing Dominic Raab.

The meeting will focus on bilateral relations, bilateral cooperation in multilateral fields and important regional and global issues.

Qureshi will also interact with the members of the Pakistan community.

He would also address the media in London and brief them about Pakistan’s views on bilateral ties between the two nations, important regional and global issues.

The visit to the United Kingdom is a testament to the strengthening of high-level contacts between the two countries, a Foreign Office statement said.
