PML-N united behind Nawaz’s leadership, says Maryam

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Monday admitted differences within the Sharif household but said that they stand behind Nawaz Sharif’s leadership.

“Hamza [Shehbaz] and me may have a difference of opinion [over certain issues] but we are untied and Hamza Shehbaz is my younger brother,” said Maryam Nawaz while addressing a party meeting.

The PML-N vice president said that she and Hamza Shahbaz are united and stand behind Nawaz Sharif’s leadership.

“I pray for Hamza from the bottom of my heart. We both are united and Nawaz Sharif is only head of our family and the entire party. I sincerely appreciate the services of Shehbaz Sharif too,” she added.

Maryam also mentioned that the worst tactics were used in the recently held Cantonment Board elections to help the ruling party win the elections which were even worse than the dictatorship era.

“Thank God, we got a huge victory. We were defeated in the Kashmir election on TV as the ruling party got 600,000 votes and we got 500,000 votes,” she said.

“We lost only one seat in Sahiwal in the 2018 General Elections. I can still see the spirit of victory and commitment on your faces today. This happens only when you remain attached to the party leadership and do not deviate from their mission,” the PML-N leader added.

Maryam Nawaz further said that the PML-N is the only present, past and future option for Pakistan.

She also criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan for skyrocketing inflation and rising prices of daily-use commodities.

“It is our national responsibility not to let this country fall into the wrong hands. The principle of nature is that time does not remain the same and time is changing now,” she concluded.
