Nawaz says those propagating his anti-army stance are enemies of Pakistan

LAHORE: Firing another salvo against the establishment, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has said that those propagating that he could not get along with the army were actually enemies of the country.

“Were all former prime ministers right from Liaquat Ali Khan to Mir Zafarullah Jamali who couldn’t get along with the military were traitors,” argued Nawaz while addressing a party meeting through video-link.

He reiterated that he would not make any compromise over self-respect.

“I didn’t bow down to the foreign countries and imperialists. How could I could be enslaved by the domestic players,” argued the PML-N leader.

Nawaz claimed that his party has become the “most popular party of the country” .

He said, “Which party has built a motorway, installed energy projects and eliminated Pakistan’s load shedding, eliminated terrorism, brought the economy to the heights of development. Which party has made the Orange Line Metro, Metro buses and development projects.”

He claimed that there has been a decline in the rule of every other party.

“By the grace of God, it is only the Muslim League in whose era progress has been made. We are proud of that,” he asserted.

Nawaz said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has ruined the country and has destroyed Pakistani culture.

“He has ruined our politics and political culture. He does not know how to talk except for abusing others. No, I would tell him not to use language like that but to answer based on facts,” he asserted.

“We will not compromise on our self-esteem. We do not accept the slavery of those who abrogated the constitution. If we do not accept the slavery of the imperialist powers, how will we accept your slavery,” argued Nawaz.
