TTP militant killed, FC officer martyred in operation in Dera Ismail Khan

ISLAMABAD: A terrorist commander was killed and a Frontier Corps officer was martyred during a military operation in the district of Tank in Khan, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.

The ISPR, the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said in a statement the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the district on the reported presence of terrorists, without mentioning the time of the operation.

The operation team cordoned off the area and started the operation upon which an intense fire exchange started between the two sides, leading to the killing of the Khawaja Din alias Sher Khan of the proscribed Afghanistan-based Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

An army officer, Sikandar Sohail Latif, also lost his life during the shooting between the operation party and the terrorists.
