UK to accept NADRA-issued COVID-19 certificates as proof of vaccination

The United Kingdom has agreed to accepted NADRA-issued COVID-19 certificates as proof of vaccination for Pakistanis. The news was confirmed by Britain’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Christian Turner.

Previously, the NADRA-issued vaccination certificate was not acceptable in Britain. The unacceptability of Chinese vaccines however still remains in place, which means a significant portion of the Pakistani population would still be unable to enter the UK.

The high commissioner also accepted that the decision to place Pakistan on the red list was “highly disappointing” as it effected a lot of people from both countries.

Pakistan was removed from the red list and was placed on the amber list on September 22 along with several other countries.

Valid vaccines for UK travel

Fully vaccinated Pakistanis with one of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) authorised vaccines — including  Pfizer, Moderna, Oxford AstraZeneca or Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) are permitted to enter the UK and exempted from quarantine and testing under the rules.
