Punjab CTD arrests seven suspected terrorists

The Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested seven suspected terrorists in an intelligence-based operations across the province, a news outlet reported on Saturday.

According to the report, the department conducted an intelligence-based operations across the province, arrested seven terrorists from different places and moved them to an unknown location for interrogation.

The department arrested at least three terrorists from Hafizabad and others from Rahim Yar Khan and Jhang.

As per the report, explosives, sabotage materials, computers, mobile phones, identity cards and cash were seized from the terrorists’ possession during the operation.

The arrested terrorists belong to the a banned group, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, the department was quoted as saying in the report.

Last month, the department had arrested eight suspected terrorists, including four from Lahore, who were allegedly planning attacks on law enforcement agencies.
