PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to launch eight mega projects worth Rs65 billion which also includes 107 sub-projects.
These projects include construction of 65 roads, 41 water supply and one solar energy transfer projects. The maximum amount of Rs 9.90bn will be spent on projects in Hazara Division.
According to the Planning and development Department, Rs9.20 billion will be spent as per Peshawar Capital’s District Development Plan under which 15 sub-projects for clean water supply and road construction have been identified in the capital city. Eight irrigation projects will also be completed in Peshawar.
According to the district development plan Rs. 6.50 billion will be spend on the districts development plans of Nowshera and Charsadda. In Nowshera, five water and 2 road construction projects will be completed while in Charsadda four road construction projects will be carried out.
Under the district development plan of Mardan division, Rs9.58 billion will be spent on eight water supply schemes. Eight water supply projects will also be constructed in Swabi under the plan.
The report said they Rs6.37 billion will be spent in Swat and Shangla. Three road projects would be constructed in Shangla while an irrigation and three roads projects have been identified in Swat.
Under District Development Plan of Buner, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Malakand, Upper and Lower Chitral, Rs9.70 billions will be spend on the construction of 5 roads in Lower Dir, two irrigation projects, three roads and two irrigation schemes in Upper Dir while construction of two roads and one irrigation is identified project in Malakand.
Under the District Development Plan of Kohat Division, Rs4.5 billion will be spent on construction of one road in Hangu and one irrigation and road have been identified in Karak and three road projects have been identified in Kohat.
In Bannu Rs 4.60 billion will be spent on two irrigation and one solar energy project. Three irrigation projects in Lakki Marwat have also been identified. In Dera Ismail Khan Division, Rs4.70 billion will be spent under the District Development Plan.
Hazara Division were allocated Rs 9.90 billion in District Development Plan which include  construction of three irrigation and two roads in Abbottabad, two roads in Batgram, three roads in Haripur, Lower Kohistan, Kolai Pals and Upper Kohistan. A plan has been identified for construction of three roads and one irrigation project in Mansehra while one road project is identified in Torgarh.
Thus, Rs5 billion would be spent in the merged districts under the District Development Plan for which plans Rs5 billion have been allocated and the deputy commissioners have been directed to identify projects.
