Punjab govt approves deployment of Rangers for NA-133 by-poll

The Punjab government has allowed the deployment of police, along with Rangers for the NA-133 by-election, to be held in Lahore.

It is pertinent to note that the by-election for Lahore’s NA-133 constituency is scheduled to be held on November 5.

As per the sources, the ECP had sought deployment of Rangers on the polling day for the NA-133 by-election.

It must be noted that the seat fell vacant after the demise of PML-N MNA Pervaiz Malik who passed away on October 11.

As per the Punjab election commission, there are 254 polling stations in the constituency, with 440,485 voters.

As per the details, 199 polling stations have been declared sensitive. In order to cater to the security concerns, closed-circuit television cameras will be installed at the polling stations.
