Says RSS chief's statement of 'undoing partition' reflects India's expansionist designs

RAWALPINDI: Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Shehryar Khan Afridi Saturday said that RSS chief’s statement of ‘undoing partition’ of the subcontinent reflects India’s expansionist designs and India had become a threat to regional peace and development.
President AJK Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, PPP Secretary General Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari, PML-N spokeswoman Marriyum Aurangzeb, APHC leader Syed Yusuf Naseem and others also addressed.
Addressing the participants of Kashmir Conference held under aegis of High Court Bar Association Rawalpindi as Chief Guest, Shehryar Khan Afridi said that
Referring to the recent statement of RSS President Mohan Bhagwat about ‘undoing partition’ of the subcontinent, Shehryar Afridi said that this statement reflects India’s expansionist designs of India and this expansionist design was a majir threat to the regional peace.
“This statement reflects that India is a threat to Pakistan, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Bhutan, Nepal and other countries of the region,” he added.
Shehryar Afridi said that the entire Pakistani nation stood united on our nuclear deterrence and Kashmir cause and there was no difference among the people of Pakistan.
He said since past many decades, there were no rules framed for Kashmir Committee and after overtaking the office, he had framed rules. He said that he also included Azad Kashmir leadership a part of the Kashmir Committee. He said that he also included public component in the narrative building on Kashmir and formed Advisory Boards to revive and reform national narrative on Kashmir.
He said that India was implementing its plan of genocide in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and was killing and muzzling Kashmiri voices.
He said that Kashmir Committee also is working on narrative building on Kashmir dispute over the digital space. He said that the Committee had made the management of social media companies accountable in the Parliament for not providing level playing field to the Kashmiri and Pakistani social media users.
He said that he had become the first Chairman Kashmir Committee to visit the US and attend the UNGA session and lobbied with top US lawmakers, lobby groups, think tanks and civil society activists by holding awareness sessions.
President AJK Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry said that he was working to reactivate the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora to help internationalise Kashmir dispute.
He said that the sacrifices being made by Kashmiri freedom lovers had actually kept the Kashmir movement alive and said that only a meaningful dialogue could help resolve the Kashmir issue.
He said that the inflexible attitude of India had made Pakistan and Kashmiris rethink their policy and only internationalising Kashmir dispute could help build international pressure on India.
President Rawalpindi High Court Bar Association Sardar Abdul Raziq Khan welcomed the guests and called for devising a clear but unified strategy on Kashmir dispute.
He urged the treasury and opposition not to allow political differences compromise on the national cause especially the Kashmir cause.
Syed Yusuf Naseem said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had for the first time raised Kashmir at the UNGA and urged all political parties not to politicise Kashmir as it hurts Kashmiris aspirations for freedom.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that an economically strong Pakistan can help resolve Kashmir dispute. She deplored that Pakistan should have taken robust steps after India’s move of annexation of Jammu and Kashmir and revocation of Article 370 and 35-A but the government failed to take any significant action since then. She said we need to introspect why no world power supported penalised India following August 5, 2019, move by India.
Nayyar Bokhari said that all political parties were one on Kashmir dispute and the political leadership stands committed to the Kashmir cause.
He said that the United Nations had become a slave to big powers and there is a need to create a regional forum to help resolve our disputes regionally.
Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan gave an overview of the freedom struggle of Kashmir. He deplored the fact that Pakistani political leadership should not politicise Kashmir dispute as it sends a very negative message to the Kashmiri people who are laying down their lives for freedom from illegal Indian occupation.
