Islamophobia in the West

Jihadi groups emerged at the time of the Soviet Union war. These Jihadi groups were trained by the Muslim countries in the name of Allah for “Jihad Fi Sabilillah.” But the irony is that funds for training these groups were allocated by the Muslim countries as well as America. These extremist groups harbour many obnoxious thoughts which created unfounded despise against Muslims.

But the act of minority groups of Muslims victimized the whole Muslims diaspora. A few jihadis attacked the World Trade Centre which further increased the catastrophic situation and Muslims were seen as terrorists. Now the world sees the Muslim community as a terrorist group. Many documentaries are made to prove that Muslims are terrorists. In every religion, there are extremists deteriorating the peace.

Myanmar is a drastic example of atrocity when thousands of Muslims were slain in the name of religious differences but the west was gagged. There are many other examples when Muslims were targeted. In New Zealand, more than 50 Muslims praying in mosques were killed by an extremist person. Religious discrimination must be eased to bring peace and prosperity in the world. There are main reasons behind religious discrimination that Muslims are divided into many sects which affects unity. When a person from any religion is killed, his religious community stands at one point. But when a Muslim is killed, we do not find unity because of sectarianism. Due to the lack of mutual hardship faced by the Muslim diaspora, the west criticizes. It is the right time to stand along the flag of Islam to dissipate the Islamphobia. Furthermore, it is a dire need of the time to promote harmony among different religious to put forward the real face of Islam that teaches about peace.
