Pay-hike: WSSP seeks additional Rs500 million

PESHAWAR: The increase in salaries and allowances of the employees has increased the burden on Water and Sanitation Services Company Peshawar by an additional Rs530 million due to which the company has sought additional grant of Rs500 million from the provincial government.

The Water and Sanitation Company Peshawar’s (WSSP) letter to the provincial government states that the company has increased the salaries and allowances of its employees for the financial year 2021-22 in the light of the government announcement. The letter said that it has incurred a burden of Rs537 million.
 According to the company, the provincial government has approved an additional grant of Rs1 billion for all sanitation companies, including Peshawar, but for the WSSP will now need more grants.
 The company has requested the provincial government to release an additional grant of Rs500 million to the company so that it can meet its expenses for the current financial year.
