Instilling hypocrisy through education

Almost all of us have gone through a stage where we were taught about reproduction in biology textbooks. Although the books do not contain the required data, it is enough to explain to the child the basic knowledge of reproduction. At large, we have hardly seen any serious teachings on the subject. The majority of teachers are reluctant to teach this subject. Maybe they think it’s not real or necessary. The majority of teachers ignore reproductive questions.

I attended a private education school where our female teacher skipped the whole chapter of reproduction and advised us to memorize the chapter without teaching the concepts of the reproduction chapter. Later, my parents changed my school and I went to an All-Boys High School where surprisingly even the male teachers neglected to teach this subject and the questions were stuck in the minds of the students. Recently, my sister, who also attends an only-girls school, asked me to teach her the reproductive health chapter. She told me that her teacher had skipped the whole chapter.

I asked many of my friends, including classmates and female friends, and they told me the same story. Only two of my friends told me that they have been taught and explained this chapter in its entirety and their questions have been answered but the important thing is that they were studying in a very expensive school. Therefore, many questions arise as to why most teachers are reluctant to teach this subject. Aren’t they trained for that? Don’t they think it’s important to teach? Don’t they think that the students sitting in front of them will one day grow up with vague questions? Why is there a chapter on re-creation in textbooks if they are not ready to teach it? A textbook for a particular grade is designed to teach students a lesson that will make them aware of these things. Teachers should be trained in this and they should not feel hesitant while teaching it.
