Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood on Thursday said that he has tested positive for Covid-19 again.
In a tweet, Shafqat said he is feeling mild symptoms at the moment.
“I have unfortunately tested positive for coronavirus. My symptoms are mild so far and I feel fine. Hopefully with some rest will recover soon,” he wrote in his tweet.
He also urged people to continue to take all precautions, especially wearing a mask at all times.
He had earlier tested positive for the virus in May last year.
A few days ago, President Dr Arif Alvi had also tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time.
Pakistan is seeing an upward trend in Covid-19 cases as the country recorded 3,019 new cases of coronavirus during the last 24 hours.
The death toll from the pandemic climbed to 28,992 after five more patients succumbed to the viral disease in the past 24 hours.
