‘Missing’ Khairpur teacher confirms marriage with her student

KHAIRPUR: There was a drop scene in the alleged kidnapping of a female teacher of Khairpur (Sindh) on Sunday, when she, in her latest statement, said that she was not kidnapped but had contracted marriage with her student at a court in Karachi.

The teacher, aged 23, had gone missing on January 24, 2022, and there was speculation that she might have been kidnapped.

Her mother had got a case of kidnapping registered with Gambat police station.

Interestingly, the boy, aged 20, had also gone missing on the same date.

A day earlier, on February 12, it had been reported that a schoolteacher in Khairpur had tied the knot with her ninth-grade student Shahzeb Rajput and sought refuge and protection from the local police and the administration.

The video of the newly-wed asking for protection from the authorities had gone viral.

On the other hand, earlier it was reported that a private schoolteacher was allegedly abducted by three suspects, including one of her students, from Gambat in Khairpur on Friday.
