HBL PSL 7: Wasim issues clarification over Babar ‘scolding’ scene

Karachi Kings president and former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram on Thursday issued a clarification over his conversation with franchise skipper Babar Azam during their Wednesday’s HBL PSL match against Multan Sultans, saying it was just a discussion about their bowlers.

A video of Wasim apparently “scolding” Babar during the match had gone viral on social media, which shows the former captain seemingly getting harsh with the Karachi Kings skipper at the boundary line during the match as pressure on the team to defend the target had increased.

“I asked Babar if our bowlers weren’t able to deliver yorkers at all,” Wasim said.

He said that the two didn’t talk about anything except for the bowlers because they should have defended the target.

Responding to the criticism, Wasim reiterated that the only thing he talked about to Babar about were the bowlers, and that he is “surprised to see the reactions” on it. “Babar is a wonderful boy and he has tried his best,” he said.

Multan Sultans had defeated Karachi Kings by seven wickets.
