ISLAMABAD: The nation reported 2,870 cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, up from 2,465 on Wednesday, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said Thursday.
Following the new emergence of new cases, the coronavirus transmission ratio inched up to 5.55 percent from 4.97 percent recorded a day earlier.

While the total number of infections has risen to 1.49 million in the country, said the NCOC, a department leading the campaign against the pandemic.
A total of 4,692 people recovered from the disease during the period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,39 million, showed data from the NCOC.
The number of active cases has dropped to 71,167 in the country, including 1,495 in critical condition.
According to the official data, 40 deaths from Covid-19 were registered on Monday, taking the death toll to 29,917.
Sindh is the worst-hit province with 561,683 infections recorded, followed by Punjab, which has reported 497,307 cases so far.
