Three arrested for harassing, attacking civil servant

ISLAMABAD: Police have arrested three people on charges of harassing and attacking Mansehra Assistant Commissioner Marvi Malik Sher last week, it emerged on Sunday.

Sher is one of the five sisters who set a record by clearing the CSS examination and joining bureaucracy.

The accused were arrested on March 18 when they attempted to overtake Sher’s car several times. They also kept taking her pictures and recording videos before finally stopping their vehicle in front of her car in the Ghazi Kot neighbourhood of Mansehra.

The accused expressed their dismay at having a “woman as an assistant commissioner in ‘their area’”.

They allegedly also tried to hit the assistant commissioner by trying to pull her out of the vehicle, injuring her and her security detail.

Some people present at the site rescued them and handed over the men to the police.

A case under various sections including those pertaining to harassment was registered on the complaint of Sher.
