— Says he has ‘massive surprise’ up his sleeve for the opposition
— Says he met with Ch Nisar whom he has 40-year-old friendship
ISLAMABAD: Dismissing the notion he has decided to step down, Prime Minister Imran Khan Wednesday claimed to have a ‘massive surprise’ up his sleeve for the opposition and expressed confidence that he would emerge victorious in the ‘no-confidence match’ against his opponents.
In an informal interaction with reporters in Islamabad, Imran Khan said he would stand victorious in the “no-confidence match” and the opposition will be shocked over the “loss of their MPs” in favour of the prime minister.
To a question, he wondered whether he should give up under the pressure of “thieves” even before the fight begins and added those who called for his resignation did not know him.
He told the reporters the opposition parties had already exposed their cards but the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party will give them a big surprise.
He said his party will hold a historic gathering in Islamabad on March 27.
Calling the military the “most precious asset” of the country, Khan said Pakistan would have been disintegrated into three parts had there been no army to protect its existence.
He said the Pakistan Army was inevitable for the country therefore no one should malign the institution just for sake of politics.
Calling Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl ur-Rehman a “12th man” of the politics, he said the time for his expulsion from the team was nearing.
He said the objective of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) politics was just to save their looted money.
To a question, the prime minister confirmed to have met with former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan as he had a 40-year-old association with him.
