Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that China cannot allow Cold War mentality to be revived, camp confrontation to be repeated in Asia.
“Small & medium-sized countries shall not become tools or even victims of the great power game,” said Wang Yi during a meeting with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in China.
Separately, during a media briefing, spokesman of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Wenbin said that China always follows the principle of non-interference in other countries’ internal affairs.
Responding to a question about a no confidence motion moved against Prime Minister Imran Khan, Wang Wenbin said as Pakistan’s all-weather strategic cooperative partner and friendly neighbor, China sincerely hopes that all parties in Pakistan can maintain solidarity and jointly uphold development and stability.
Defence Cooperation
Meanwhile, Spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defence said at a press conference in Beijing said that China has said that Chinese and Pakistani militaries stand ready to expand practical cooperation in various fields to a new level and inject a new impetus into the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
He said that the military-to-military relations, serving as the mainstay of the China-Pakistan friendship, have played an important role in the development of bilateral relations for a long time.
The spokesperson emphasised that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners, true friends and iron brothers that share weal and woe. China is willing to work with Pakistan to accelerate the construction of a closer China-Pakistan community of shared destiny in the new era.
He said that the two militaries have achieved fruitful results in fields such as high-level visits, joint training and exercises, anti-epidemic cooperation and equipment technology, constantly enriching the connotation of bilateral strategic cooperation.
