PM expresses resolve to cement ties with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Germany

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed the resolve to work closely with Saudi Arabia to realise the shared vision of strategic partnership.

In a tweet on Friday, the prime minister said that Pakistan-Saudi relations are special and marked by exceptional trust.

Sharif also thanked the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman for their felicitation messages on his becoming the prime minister of Pakistan. “I resolve to work closely to realise our shared vision of strategic partnership,” Sharif further said.

Separately, Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude to the Emir of Qatar for always standing by Pakistan and referred to the help extended by his country in overcoming the energy crisis in Pakistan.

In a tweet, he said Pakistan concluded an agreement for the procurement of LNG from Qatar in 2016 at a reasonable and competitive price compared to the market. He said this agreement was helpful in overcoming the energy crisis.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sharif expressed hope to work closely with Germany to further strengthen and deepen the long-standing and multifaceted relations.

In a tweet on Friday, he thanked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for felicitating him. He said that Pakistan-German partnership for regional peace and development remains crucial.
