‘Back in 90s Lahore’: PML-N targets Jemima’s children with anti-Semitic tropes

LONDON: British screenwriter Jemima Goldsmith (née Khan) said she and her children are being targeted with anti-Semitic abuse by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) activists against former prime minister Imran Khan, her ex-husband.

Abid Sher Ali, a relative of disgraced former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, announced a rally outside her home in London later today.

Khan was ousted as Prime Minister of Pakistan on April 9 after losing a dramatic late-night vote of no-confidence from MPs, including members of his own party.

Last week, protesters in support of Khan gathered outside the Park Lane home in London of Sharif, calling for an end to state ‘corruption’.

Now, calling it a tit-for-tat retaliation rally, a PML-N mob in London are planning to protest outside Goldsmith’s home.

She said on Twitter: “Protests outside my house, targeting my children, antisemitic abuse on social media […] It’s almost like I’m back in ’90s Lahore.”

“With respect, The difference is that I have got nothing to do with Pakistani politics and neither have my children. They are low-key private individuals who are not even on social media.

But Ali seemed unconvinced and called for the rally to go ahead.
