ISLAMABAD: Following the change of government in the center Chairman Board of Investment (BOI) Muhammad Azfar Ahsan has resigned from his post.
Through a letter sent to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Azfar tendered his resignation as head of BoI after serving at the position for five months.
In the letter he has thanked former prime minister Imran Khan for giving him the important responsibility which he tried to fulfill.
He has also mentioned the 125 reforms under Asan Karobar Program launched by BoI recently.
In November 2021, the federal cabinet had approved the appointment of Muhammad Azfar Ahsan as the new Chairman BOI.
Azfar Ahsan is the fourth person to have been appointed to the post. He had replaced Atif Bokhari who resigned in June due to “personal reasons”.
It may be added here that the newly-appointed chairman is the founder of Corporate Pakistan Group (CPG), which represents the elite of Pakistan’s national intelligentsia, including corporate and business leaders, ministers, senators, governors, federal secretaries, politicians, distinguished academicians, energy experts, tech entrepreneurs, defence personnel, police officers, foreign policy experts, media practitioners, and the movers and shakers of civil society.
