PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja decides not to resign

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja has no plans to step down from his position, a news outlet reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, the newly-formed government is also refraining from sending the former cricketer home.

Some people close to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif want the role of chairman but the patron-in-chief does not intend to intervene in this matter.

Earlier, former premier Imran Khan had said that Ramiz is free to make a decision regarding the PCB chairmanship.

Speaking to reporters at his residence on Monday, Imran Khan had said that Ramiz is his player and will fight till the last ball.

“Ramiz is free to make a decision regarding the PCB chairmanship. He will decide his future himself,” the former premier shared. “Ramiz is my player and he will compete against the opposition till the last ball,” he added.

Ramiz was elected unopposed as PCB chairman in September, 2021 after being nominated by the former premier.
