Sharif arrives in Quetta

QUETTA: Shehbaz Sharif arrived here Saturday on his maiden visit to the minerals-rich province after assuming the office of the prime minister.

Upon his arrival, Sharif was received by Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo while acting Governor Jan Mohammad Jamali, Federal Minister for Housing and Works Maulana Abdul Wasay, chief secretary and police chief were also present, his office said in a press release.

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Communications Asad Mahmood and Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) chief Akhtar Mengal also accompanied the prime minister.

Sharif was given a guard of honour upon his arrival at the chief minister secretariat.

Earlier, while onboard, the prime minister also received a briefing on the development of Balochistan.
