Arrest warrants of Sharifs put in abeyance, claims Sanaullah

In a live transmission aired on a local TV channel, lawyer Saad Rasool left Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah spellbound by questioning the minister’s loyalty and sincerity with his post.

Rasool started off the argument by asking Sanaullah that he is first a Pakistani who is serving the nation as the Interior Minister of Pakistan, and then a PML-N leader. He proceeded with his argument by stating that as the FIA is an organization that comes under him, and the organization has issued warrants for Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, then how can they sit in important government meetings with the officials?

He went on to ask that how can the Interior Minister of Pakistan meet and sit with them, knowing that they are ‘wanted’ by FIA. He further added that ‘don’t you think that you should have taken handcuffs with you to arrest them in order to bring them back to Pakistan?

Sanaullah responded to Rasool’s questions by stating that ‘I have analyzed the warrants on merit, and they are fraud, and that the arrest warrants of Sharifs have been put in abeyance.

To which, Rasool replied that ‘fraud or not, they have been issued and that is what matters. Also, their credibility is to be decided by the courts.’

Sanaullah cut him off and stated that ‘No, the courts won’t decide on this matter. The former government is responsible for issuance of these fake warrants, so it will be left for them to decide.’

Rasool kept on refuting Sanaullah’s claim and before he could proceed further with the argument, the anchor of the live transmission jumped in and brushed off the spat.
