An additional district and sessions judge on Monday sought a reply from the Superintendent of Police Investigation by May 18 on a petition seeking registration of an FIR against former prime minister Imran Khan for alleged passing statements that involved the use of nuclear weapons.
Shaikh Muzafar, in his petition, contended that he approached the Samanabad police station to register an FIR against the ousted premier but the police did not cooperate.
The petitioner implored that the concerned police official neither accepted his application nor registered his FIR.
Requesting the court to direct the concerned quarters to register the police report, Muzafar contended that the former premier’s statement is tantamount to threatening the Pakistani nation.
He also added that Imran had proved that he would go to any length for furthering his interests and therefore, the PTI chief had committed a ‘heinous crime’.
