Karachi deprived of water

The residents of Sector-8, North Karachi are not being supplied potable water and the situation has been a cause for much mental and physical distress. It is impossible to live without clean water during the scorching summers as heatwaves continue to affect the lives of citizens. It is intimated that the Khawaja Ajmair Nagri water pumping station supplies water to the residents of Sector-8 typically after every 10 days. Water is supplied to the station continuously for 2 to 3 days a week, which is of no use as water reservoirs at the station are not big enough to hold all the water. As a result, there is an unequal distribution of water which finishes before the majority of resident receive it.

Those who are well off are able to buy water from water tankers while those who cannot afford to buy water from the tanker mafia are compelled to ask their neighbours for water. The overall situation is horrendous as it has become difficult for residents to live in such dire circumstances. It is my humble request for the relevant authorities to ensure supply of potable water to the residents of Sector-8 in a timely manner.
