PPP Minister urges PM to shun practice of summaries approval through circulation

ISLAMABAD: In a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday, Federal Minister Khursheed Shah objected to approval through circulation of summaries and demanded that this practice should be ended.

“Matters that are discussed in the cabinet are being approved through circulation of summaries. This practice has been observed during the last one month,” Khursheed Shah informed the prime minister in the letter.

“Approval through circulation of summaries was a policy and strategy of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) which used to refrain from discussing issues in the cabinet meeting and preferred to get approval from ministers through circulation,” Shah said.

“Continuing this tradition of PTI does not create a good impression. My suggestion is that the summaries sent by the departments should be included in the agenda of the cabinet,” he suggested.

“So that the advantages and disadvantages of the issues could be discussed in detail before approval,” he added.
