Pakistan’s IT exports to surpass $3bn: minister

ISLAMABAD: Minister for IT & Telecommunications Syed Amin-Ul-Haque Tuesday said that Pakistan’s IT exports would surpass the $3 billion target this year due to steps taken by the ministry.

Addressing a ceremony at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), he said the country’s IT exports have crossed $2.1 billion due to congenial investment atmosphere provided in Pakistan.

He said that the investments of Pakistani start-ups grew by almost five times as compare to 2020 and the ministry has been providing both local and international networking platforms to start-ups to pitch their business ideas and products to potential customers and investors.

The minister advocated for the role of technology in the government’s mission to grow the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Pakistan.
