Hamza, Zardari agree to field joint candidates for Punjab by-polls

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday developed a consensus to field joint candidates for the upcoming by-elections to 20 Punjab Assembly seats.

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz called on PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House Lahore. Both the leaders discussed the prevailing political and economic situation of the country with special focus on the upcoming by-elections to 20 seats of Punjab Assembly.

Provincial Minister Ata Tarar, Malik Ahmed Khan, Khawaja Salman Rafique and Imran Goraya assisted the Punjab chief minister during the meeting while the former president Asif Zardari was flanked by Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah, Sharjeel Memon, Dr Asim Hussain, Syed Ali Haider Gilani and Syed Hassan Murtaza during the meeting.

Earlier, the former president congratulated Hamza Shehbaz on assuming the post of Chief Minister Punjab. On the occasion, describing PPP as an ally, Hamza Shehbaz said the discussion process with PPP will continue to further improve the working relationship between the two allies.

“The coalition of PML-N and PPP aims at serving the masses”, Hamza Shehbaz declared and added he considers politics as worship and believes in collective decisions.
