Massive fire breaks out in forest in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A massive fire broke out on Tuesday in the forest in Sector H-12 of Islamabad and reached the surroundings of NUST University.

According to the rescue team, fire is spreading speedily while more fire brigades have been called to douse the blaze.

Taking notice of the forest fire in the capital, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to take emergency measures.

The prime minister stressed immediate steps to evacuate the people from the affected areas. He directed the mobilization of fire brigade on an urgent basis to extinguish the fire and urged the Ministry of Climate Change to present a comprehensive strategy to prevent such incidents in Islamabad and Margalla hills.
