Salaries of centrally contracted players likely to increase by 30 percent

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to convene over a scheduled Board of Governors meeting next week to discuss various things including a raise for all the centrally contracted players, according to sources.

According to the details available, the board members are going to approve a 30 percent increment in the salaries of the centrally contracted players.

It is also reported that PCB is likely to introduce a division between players dedicated to white-ball and red-ball cricket to further formalise the structure.

It is also reported that the board might also discuss the recent reports of Pakistan’s participation in a revamped Afro-Asia Cup, which might feature players from Pakistan and India feature in the same team as they did back in 2005 and 2007.

Recently, PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja announced the inception of the Pakistan Junior League (PJL), which will mimic the country’s biggest domestic competition Pakistan Super League (PCB) dedicated to players under the age of 18.

The PJL will also be a topic of discussion during the meeting alongside finalising PCB’s budget for the next fiscal year.
