Clash in PP-167 By-Polls: ECP calls PTI, PML-N candidates on June 23

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) chief has called the rival candidates of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) on their workers’ fighting in PP-167 by-polls on June 23.

An important meeting regarding the situation in the by-elections in PP-167 Lahore was held in the ECP under the chair of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).

Special Secretary Election Commission briefed on the incident of firing in PP-167 Lahore on which, candidates Nazir Ahmed Chauhan of PML-N and Shabbir Ahmed of PTI have been summoned.

The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, District Returning Officer and Deputy Monitoring Officer have also been called on the same day to brief the commission on the matter.

In the meeting, a briefing was also given regarding the irregularities in NA-240 Korangi Karachi and summoned Pak Sarzameen Party head, Mustafa Kamal, on June 22.

The ECP has also called SP Korangi, District Monitoring Officer and Returning Officer to appear before the commission on the said date.
