The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday served notices to respondents in a petition challenging the appointment of acting President National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the case filed by a citizen Latif Qureshi through his counsel.
The petitioner’s lawyer G. M Chauhdry Advocate adopted the stance that the appointment of acting president NBP was a violation of articles 3,4,18, 25 and 25 of the constitution.
He prayed the court to declare the decisions, directives and policies introduced by the acting president as illegal.
It also prayed the court to stop the acting president from his official duties till the final decision of this court. The court served notices to respondent and adjourned the case till July 26.
