HEC releases Rs53.9m to UoS under endowment fund

SWAT: The Higher Education Commission has released Rs53.9 million in endowment funds to the University of Swat.

The University of Swat (UoS) is one of the few universities in the country that has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Higher Education Commission to identify alternative sources for enhancing its financial capacity.

As per the memorandum, an endowment fund has been set up to enhance the financial capacity of the university for which HEC has initially allocated Rs53.9 million. The fund is meant for better management of financial affairs in the university.

An office will be set up which will work for the financial stability of the university.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Sher termed the project important for the financial future of the university. He reiterated his commitment to make the university one of the best universities in the country.

KP-HCC SEALS THREE HEALTH CENTRES

The KP Healthcare Commission on Friday carried inspection of medical stores and healthcare centres here in Swat district following many complaints received on KP Citizen Portal.

On the directives of Swat Deputy Commissioner Junaid Khan, Additional Assistant Commissioner Babuzai Amir Khan along with KP Healthcare Commission’s Senior Inspector Saeedur Rehman and Inspector Faiz Ali Khan carried out inspection of various Healthcare centres in pursuance of KP-Healthcare Commission Act 2015 in Swat District.

They inspected 16 healthcare centres and medical stores. During the campaign, three 3 centres were sealed after they were found in violation of the rules and regulations.

According to detail, Advance Dental Care was sealed after the owner was found busy with dental practice without a BDS doctor at the time of inspection. Refilled dental cartridges were also recovered from the dental clinic.

Meanwhile, Saddam Dental Clinic was sealed after its owner Zia Ullah Khan was found busy carrying out dental practice without any authorization. According to the officials, the clinic is not registered with KP-HCC.

Similarly, Yaseen Health Clinic was sealed for carrying out non-qualified medical practices.
