PML-N vote bank intact, stands firmly with party: Saad

LAHORE: Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique said on Tuesday that despite difficult circumstances, vote bank of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was intact and standing firmly with the party, as it won four seats which had previously been won by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Talking to the media here, he said that the PTI’s baseless narrative against the national institutions had been rejected as the election results showed that by-election were held in a free and transparent manner.

He said that price-hike and inflation in the country was a result of incompetence and bad economic policies of the previous PTI government, as the coalition present government, formed only few months ago, could not be held responsible for misdeeds of the previous regime.

He said the PML-N had paid the political price in the by-elections for taking tough decisions to save the country from default. He said the PML-N leadership, being loyal to people and the country, put its politics at stake and took such decisions for tackling the current challenges.

Kh Saad Rafique said that the PML-N was a genuine political party and would continue its struggle to counter baseless narrative of the PTI. He alleged that the PTI was misleading people of the country through false promises and hollow slogans.

The PML-N leader demanded that the verdict in the long-drawn-out foreign funding case against the PTI leadership including former premier Imran Khan pending currently should be announced immediately. He said that justice should be ensured across the board in the country.

Khwaja Saad Rafique said that expenses of PTI social media campaign should also be investigated as the platform was being used to level baseless allegations against national institutions. It had become a habit of the PTI to accept the decisions which were in its favour only, otherwise they start blaming the institutions.
