Shahbaz Gill urges establishment not to interfere in civilian domain

ISLAMABAD: PTI leader Shahbaz Gill Tuesday urged the establishment to play its constitutional role and stay away from interfering in the civilian domain per the constitutional provisions.

Speaking to media here outside Supreme Court, Shahbaz Gill said that the establishment would have to decide whether it wanted to keep interfering into the civilian domain.

“But it it wants to keep interfering, it would have to amend the Constitution. However, since its interference in civilian domain is not a constitutional provision, the establishment needs to play its constitutional role and stay away,” he added while responding to a question.

He also alleged that the [diplomatic] cypher was concealed from the then Prime Minister Imran Khan and foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and was only shared when confronted by Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

However, Foreign Office later in the day refuted the claim made by Gill, saying that the cypher was not concealed from the then foreign minister.

He said that the party was getting ready lists of bureaucrats especially chief secretary Punjab who had become a tool to target the political workers in violation of the law. He also urged the superior judiciary to take action against the use of brute force against the workers of the PTI.

He also said that the PTI lawmakers had tendered resignations from National Assembly and it would not review its decision. He claimed that the PTI had the support of the lawmakers that it can remove Hamza Shehbaz as chief minister Punjab.
